The Bridge to Nowhere
The Bridge to Nowhere is a federal roads project on St Thomas, Virgin Islands that was not completed for over 20 years. The two-lane poured concrete bridge did not connect to a road at either end, so could be considered a boondoggle; but the goats liked it, and it served as a visual reminder of the absurdities of life that are so common in areas where cultures clash. Now that the road has been completed, I must admit that my positive attitude is more serviceable than caustic wit and irony.
As an artist I strive to express my appreciation of the wonders of the natural world and the contrasts produced by man’s interaction in it.
I love to travel and I love to make things with a wide range of materials. I am a collector, a beach comber, a connoisseur of souvenirs...memories.
